Luck of the Irish

Mr. Spock was walking in the hall on his way to his quarters when he
felt someone pinch him from behind. Surprised, he turned around to
find Dr. McCoy standing there grinning at him.
"Happy St. Patrick's Day," said the Doctor in a mischievous tone.
As if to explain himself he said, "You aren't wearing any green."
Spock quirked an eyebrow.
"I fail to see the logic in that. Why should the lack in green in
my attire result in you pinching me?"
"It's an old Terran custom." McCoy explained. "When someone isn't
wearing green on St. Patrick's Day, you pinch `em."
Spock took in the Doctor from head to toe.
"You aren't wearing any green."
The Doctor leaned in.
"My underwear is green."
Spock's eyes became round. He looked down.
"Indeed; they would not be regulation."
McCoy leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"You bet your pointed ears their not. To hell with regulation."
Spock's voice clouded a bit as he went on.
"But we shouldn't ignore regulation, Doctor. We should go somewhere
where we can take off that underwear."
McCoy laid his head on Spock's shoulder.
"Let's go."
As they made their way down the hall, McCoy nudged Spock in the
ribs.
"I guess the luck of the Irish was with me today."
Spock raised an eyebrow.
"Indeed."
