Summary:  McCoy is singing "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.  Spock is trying to figure out why.

--ooOoo--

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,

Leonard?

bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,

Tea sounds acceptable, if you are offering.  What --besides singing-- are you doing?

brown paper packages tied up with strings,

Why are you not using the gift bags I purchased?

these are a few of my favorite things.

Roses?  Kittens?  Kettles?  Mittens?  I must say, Len-kam.  You're tastes are simpler than I thought.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,

door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.

Then again, perhaps no so simple.  What is schnitzel?

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.

Are you referring to the wild geese that you accuse Starfleet Command of commanding us to chase?

these are a few of my favorite things.

I believe I prefer moonlight shining softly on your features, my adun.

Girls in a white dresses with a blue satin sashes,

snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,

I thought that Georgia rarely saw snow.

silver white winters that melt into springs,

these are a few of my favorite things.

If snow is so rare, how can it be one of your favorite things?

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad,

Dogs?  Bees?  I assure you, Leonard, their are neither members of the genus Canis lupus familiaris nor Apis mellifera present on board.  And I will endeavor to prevent you from being either injured or sad.

I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad.

Leonard, my k'hat'n'dlawa, you are my favorite thing.  And with you at my side, I never feel bad.
